As Founder of MPT Travel and Lifestyle Group I have spent the past eight years turning my passions into a profitable business, creating ‘money can’t buy’ experiences and showcasing Melbourne and other worldwide destinations to our extensive and loyal client base. An Australian based company, the MPT Travel and Lifestyle Group includes:

Since 2006, the business has grown and evolved and now employs an experienced, creative and energetic team with a broad range of skills and expertise in all facets of the travel and lifestyle industries.
Suze is an ‘ideas’ girl, a collaborator, experience maker and dream creator. As the Founder and Owner of the MPT Travel and Lifestyle Group, in true entrepreneurial style, Suze has turned her passion (and obsession) for travel and absolute love of people into a successful and rapidly growing business.
She is in her element when she is surrounded by people sharing her secrets to the hottest cafes, restaurants, bars, providores, artisans, wine makers (need I go on!) in literally every corner of the globe. She is the girl that has been everywhere, the ultimate foodie and if there’s sun, sand and surf, then Suze is there!
Suze has a Masters in Business and Tourism and combines her formal qualifications with her jet-setting experience, creativity, passion and energy to provide every client with an MPT experience that exceeds their expectations.
For Suze, the key to success is to only do those things in business and life that you truly love. If you remain committed to this then the rewards will flow. By turning her passions into her work she has created a balanced and holistic approach to life, which means that it never feels like work at all!
Living by the mantra ‘Life is a journey, not a destination’, Sam is a seasoned travel professional who has lived and worked across three continents. Sam brings extensive experience to the MPT team and has a strong network within the Asian travel marketplace, coupled with an extraordinary background with luxury travel shows like Luxperience as well as the ILTMs. Sam is a big foodie (and he has the size to show) and has enjoyed many different culinary delights but it has been the experiences while partaking in those meals that have made an impact on him. From the highs of sampling the creations of hatted chefs in Europe, to having celebrity master chefs Nroadside while slurping the best bowl of soup in Asia.
Gareth is a born and bred Melbourne bloke who spent seven years overseas travelling the world and learning the fundamentals of exactly what makes travellers tick. With Gareth’s huge passion for sports, he found Melbourne calling him home whenever a big event was on. (He has been known to fly around the world just to watch his teams play on many occasions) But where else would he want to live other than the sporting capital of the world where it’s all on his doorstep! When not at a sporting event, he loves to get out an about in Melbourne with his mates and find new places to have a meal, beer and watch a band. He loves the relaxed European feel Melbourne dishes up every day of the year.
Bruce is a true Melbourne man who loves to get out and enjoy whatever the city has to offer. On any given day you are likely to find Bruce enjoying some good food and wine in a tasty Melbourne restaurant or dragging his family along to watch his beloved Melbourne Football Club (just don’t mention Collingwood!). Bruce loves his travel and is always keen to swap some travel stories. He also loves the architecture in Melbourne so feel free to start a conversation about the finer points of the Melbourne streetscape – one of the many features that make this city unlike any other in the world. Bruce has been guiding for many years and, as well as hosting guests in his beloved Australia, he’s also led many cultural and academic tours to countries such as China.
Neil has been in the industry for more years than you can count and loves nothing more than showing you the secrets of our marvellous state…the friendly great outdoors man…you will never meet a more knowledgeable or friendly host in all your travels of Australia!
Often referred to by his friends as Dr John, he spent his early years in country Victoria prior to an academic career in tertiary education teaching in the areas of teacher education, physical, sport and outdoor education. Following his recent retirement, John moved into the tourism industry and is delighted to be a member of MPT where he can use his vast array of skills and be part of the professional, dedicated and friendly team. John’s major interests are fitness (former fitness adviser at Melbourne Football Club, although he is now an avid Swans supporter), travel, food and enjoying good company. John and his wife Pamela regularly travel overseas as their daughter, Rosie, is based in London. John is also an avid tennis fan, was a driver for the Australian Tennis Open for 10 years and has hosted international tennis players for the past 20 years. John’s motto is ‘enjoy today as you do not know what tomorrow may bring.
Simon has over 10 years’ experience working in the tourism industry. He has spent his entire life living and working on the Surf Coast in Victoria. An avid traveller, Simon has travelled extensively through Europe and Asia, but always feels most at home in Victoria.
Simon loves his sport and his weekends are usually spent playing tennis or in the crowd supporting his beloved Geelong Football Club. Outside of sport, he enjoys experiencing the great food and wine his home state has to offer.
Peter is a true local, born and raised in Melbourne, with an absolute passion for the city and its surrounds. He spent most of his childhood travelling and exploring his home state of Victoria and loves nothing more than giving his guests this same experience. He enjoys sharing a yarn and having a few laughs, and being a true Melburnian, Peter’s relaxed and knowledgeable style provides guests with historical glimpses that even most locals are not aware of! As a member of the Melbourne Cricket Club and a keen Tigers supporter in the AFL, the MCG is Peter’s home away from home in the winter months. In his spare time, Peter loves to get away to his holiday house to relax and unwind, or read, travel, explore and catch up with his family and friends.
John has his hand in so many things we can hardly keep up. There is John the food and wine lover who enjoys a visit to the Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula. John the cyclist who has ridden stages of the Giro D’Italia and Tour de France (and even conquered the much feared Mont Ventoux). There is John the wine maker caring for his family’s vines, John the educator, John the bed and breakfast operator and John the Linguist (he loves a brief chat to keep his Dutch sharp). Then, of course, there is also John the guide whose lifetime of travel and work in the tourism industry has given him an unparalleled understanding and passion for all things Melbourne.
The only thing that Daniel is more passionate about than travel is his home country. After spending the last three years travelling Europe, the call of home became too great and he had to return. Sport, food, weather, food, landscapes, food, the people and food are everything that he thinks make Australia the greatest place on Earth! After exploring much of his home country he realised that Melbourne was definitely the place to be! Ask him about the city and he will bubble with pride to share his knowledge of a place he absolutely loves. His laid back nature, ‘Ocker’ voice and sense of humour epitomises a true Aussie who is only too happy to share a small corner of his country with you.
Kate is a fun-loving person with a friendly, easy-going nature and no tour goes by where a laugh is not enjoyed! After completing an Advanced Diploma in Tourism, specializing in Tour Guiding, Kate ran her own tour bus business in Geelong for 7 years. Following this she continued to work within the tourism industry for a number of years before returning to her passion, tour guiding. Kate loves to share her knowledge, have a good chat, enjoys driving, and loves that her office is her car and the scenery is constantly changing!
A great day for Kate would be warm weather, time in her garden, playing a game of field hockey, taking a drive in the countryside (lunch included!), and returning home to spend the evening around the fire with family and friends…oh and a nice local cider!
Rainer is an ‘adopted Aussie’, migrating to the lucky country from Germany many years ago. He has travelled extensively throughout the world and Australia (for business and pleasure!) and has a keen interest in Australia’s culture and Aboriginal heritage. After falling in love with Melbourne, Rainer is now sharing this amazing city with tourists and visitors and helping to educate them about the fascinating place he now calls home. A very social person and always up for a chat, Rainer spends his spare time exploring the nooks and crannies of Melbourne, discovering new, unique and quirky places to socialise, eat, drink and be merry!
Jeff started his nomadic lifestyle early, becoming a member of several expeditions exploring Central Australia’s desert regions in his early twenties. Throughout the 80s he started his own trekking company, taking groups to explore wild and untouched areas of Australia (on foot or by horse or camel!).
After selling his safari company Jeff headed off to explore the world and soon fell in love with Africa, spending most of the 90s leading safaris and expeditions from eight days in the Serengeti to six month Trans Africa epics which took him to all parts of the continent. Whether taking clients across Saharan dune fields, keeping clients from being eaten by lions in the Serengeti, pushing through bogs in the Congolese jungles, following Mountain Gorillas into the wilderness or climbing to the top of Kilimanjaro, Jeff loved it all!
In 1999 an offer of working in China took Jeff into his new passion, Asia. Working as a guide throughout China, Mongolia, Russia, Central Asia, India, Nepal, South East Asia and the Middle East, Jeff eventually found his way back to Australia in 2005 and into a role in operations management, based in Melbourne. Jeff has since been working on several tourism related projects in Victoria, Central Australia and Tasmania.
Jeff still loves getting away to annoy old friends in his old haunts as well as discovering new destinations in all parts of the world. There’s no doubt Jeff is a passionate and knowledgeable guide and will truly bring Melbourne and Victoria alive when you join him on one of our specialised tours.
