A Relaxed Paddock-to-Plate Mornington Tour
Embrace the day with a stunning scenic coastal drive south of Melbourne and prepare to be inspired and delighted by the diverse, boot‐shaped region known as the Mornington Peninsula.
Welcome to “Foodie Heaven”, where serious food lovers are in for a treat. Our hosts own 27 acres of charming farmland with red fertile soil that allows them to grow and produce premium quality olives, grapes, herbs and veggies. They also raise sheep, chickens and fish and turn amazing produce from local farmers into a range of delectable goodies.
You’ll get a whole new perspective on the concept of ‘Paddock to Plate’. Spend time in the kitchen with the chef. Cooking is done in a wood fire oven, with wood collected from fallen timber on the property. Your day changes seasonally, though you may: try your hand at curing olives grown on the farm, create handmade sausages in natural skins using fresh herbs and spices from the garden, or make mouth-watering gnocchi. You might master the art of sourdough bread, learn ways to cook with olives and olive oil, or successfully roast and make great coffee.
Try some of the Best Mornington Peninsula Cheese and Wines
Later you’ll sit back, relax and enjoy the surrounds while eating and drinking some of the finest food and wine the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. After lunch take a drive down the road to sample cool climate wines with one of our favourite wine makers, freshly made goats cheese from a local dairy or succulent strawberries and cherries from the fruit farms in the area.
There are also other destinations where you can enjoy the best Australian wines, such as the Yarra Valley wine region or the Macedon wine region, and we can take you there.
A day tour to the Mornington Peninsula is an easy trip from Melbourne, and this tour will impart you with a truly immersive experience of the region.
